How to play
Place one star per row, column and outlined region on a 5×5 board, or two on an 8×8 board. Stars cannot touch horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Mark unused cells with × to complete the board.

Every 2×2 square can hold at most one star. Combine this with the quotas for rows, columns and regions. When direct counting stalls, test an assumption and follow the resulting quota deductions to a contradiction.
