Moving the same block several times in a row — even around a corner — counts as one move.

How to play

  • Drag a block with your finger or mouse to slide it into empty space — even around a corner.
  • Or tap a block to select it, then use the arrow buttons or your keyboard’s arrow keys.
  • Bring the red Daughter to the exit at the bottom center to win.
  • Stuck? Tap Hint to see which block to move next and where.

The 81-move minimum was verified by this page’s own program, which checks every reachable position breadth-first — everything one move away, then two moves away, and so on. Count every single-square slide instead and the minimum becomes 116 — what “shortest” means depends on how you count.

From the classic layout you can reach 25,955 different arrangements, if blocks of the same shape are treated as identical. The Intro to Expert layouts were picked from them by their shortest distance to the goal. Hardest is the arrangement farthest from the goal: it needs at least 93 moves.
